The Roskamp Institute became a not-for-profit organization
In 2010, the Roskamp Foundation’s governing board announced that the Roskamp Institute had changed status from a private operating foundation to a public charity with full tax deductible status under the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) not-for-profit (501[c]3) designation.
The institute, located in Sarasota, was founded in 2003 by Robert Roskamp a philanthropist and developer of senior living facilities.
Roskamp has been in the development business for more than 30 years, beginning in Chicago where he built specialized homes for emotionally disabled adults. It was then that he first became interested in diseases of the mind.
