The Priestley Medal was awarded to Elias J. Corey
Mar. 30, 2004, the American Chemical Society awarded the Priestley Medal to Elias J. Corey “to recognize distinguished services to chemistry,” the Society’s most prestigious award.
In 1990, Perry, the Sheldon Emery Professor of Chemistry at Harvard University, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry “for his development of the theory and methodology of organic synthesis.”
