In 1997, the Oregon Cancer Center was established with a grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Now known as the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute earned the National Cancer Institute’s top designation: Comprehensive Cancer Center in 2017.
