In 1947, the new Communicable Disease Center in Atlanta, Georgia, acquires 15 acres from Emory College for a token payment of $10 — the land donated to the college by Roberyt Woordruff, founder of Coca-Cola is now known as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
