In 1965, the Flinn Foundation, a privately endowed grantmaking organization, was founded by Dr. and Mrs. Robert S. Flinn to improve the quality of life in Arizona.

The Foundation, based in Phoenix, awards grants to nonprofit organizations in Arizona, primarily to improve the competitiveness of the state’s biomedical research enterprise.
