The Cincinnati Board of Health agreed to lift influenza-related restrictions
On Nov. 11, 1918, the Cincinnati Board of Health agreed to lift influenza-related restrictions. Theaters, movie houses, churches, and schools re-opened.
As was standard procedure in most cities that had closed schools, returning children were expected to be free from influenza. But within a week or so after schools had re-opened, officials reported a sharp rise in the number of new cases among the city’s schoolchildren.
