The CDC responded to a multi-state outbreak of drug-resistant salmonella infections

On Jul. 19, 2014, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) responded to a multi-state outbreak of multi-drug-resistant salmonella infections related to chicken.

A total of 634 persons infected with seven outbreak strains of Salmonella Heidelberg were reported from 29 states and Puerto Rico from Mar. 1, 2013 to Jul. 11, 2014.
