The CDC performed the first Epidemic Intelligence Service investigation for chronic disease
In 1962, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) performed the first Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) investigation for chronic disease with a leukemia cluster. Today, the EIS has trained over 3,800 ready-responders who have served a gamut of public health issues since the programメs inception in 1951.
