The Carbone Cancer Center Clinical Sciences Center was completed
In 1978, the Carbone Cancer Center Clinical Sciences Center was completed in January adding over 70,000 square feet of research space.The university contributed $2.3 million and another $1 million came from philanthropy to support the total cost of construction of the tower plus an adjacent animal facility.
The University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center received National Cancer Center designation in 1973. UW Carbone’s scientific mission is organized around six scientific programs that foster dynamic interactions, the generation of ideas, and new applications for cancer treatment and prevention.
