The Biotechnology Industry Organization was created by the merger of IBA, ABC, and ABTA
On Jul. 1, 1993, The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) was created through the merger of the Industrial Biotechnology Association (IBA), and American Biotechnology Council (ABC).
Today, BIO is the world’s largest trade association representing biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centers and related organizations across the U.S. and in more than 30 other nations.
