In 1997, the Biotechnology Association of Alabama (BioAlabama), a non-profit trade association, was formed by biotechnology executives and community leaders to provide a unified voice for the emerging biotech industry in Alabama.

Today, BIO Alabama is the leading advocate for Alabama’s bioeconomy. BioAlabama represent the state on a national and international stage, promoting the intellectual and innovative capital in the state.
