In August 2001, the Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center was named an National Cancer Institute (NCI) -Designated Cancer Center which included $850,000 per year in federal research grants.
The Siteman, founded in St. Louis in 1999 is an international leader in moving laboratory research into the clinic, including new methods and interventions to better diagnose, treat, and prevent cancer.
