Swissmedic authorized COVID-19 vaccine Moderna for Use in Switzerland
On Jan. 12, 2021, Moderna announced that Swissmedic, the Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products, had authorized the COVID-19 Moderna Vaccine in Switzerland. The Swiss Federal Government has secured 7.5 million doses of the COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna. Following this authorization, the first deliveries were expected to begin in Switzerland.
The authorization was given according to the ordinary approvals procedure and was based on a rolling submission of data and the totality of scientific evidence shared by the Company, including a data analysis from the pivotal Phase 3 clinical study announced on November 30.
