On Jan. 20, 2009, the Knight Cancer Institute announced the recruitment of surgeon Chris Amling, M.D., chief of urology to the Institute’s staff.

Amling previously served as professor and director of the Division of Urology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Amling was born in Coquille, Oregon and graduated from the University of Oregon and OHSU School of Medicine.

OHSU is the state’s only health and research university, and Oregon’s only academic health center.
