Stem Cells, Inc and CTI merged

On Sept. 26, 1997, Stem Cells, Inc. and Cellular Transplants (CTI) merged. CT was founded in Providence in 1989. The company, initially known as CytoTherapeutics’ developed products based on the company’s proprietary CRIB(tm) membrane technology targeted for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease and Type I diabetes. In 2016, Stem Cells, Inc. was acquired by Isreal-based Microbot Medical.
