
Stanford researchers first used gene expression profiling to distinguish cancer sub-types
In 2000, Stanford researchers led by Ash Alizadeh announced they had used gene expression profiling to identify two subtypes of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL): Germinal center B-like DLBCL and Activated B-Like DLBCL.
The study findings were published in Nature.
