Serum Institute of India received approval to start human trials for Oxford vaccine
On Aug. 1, 2020, Novavax announced it had received approval to start human trials in India for the Covid-19 vaccine candidate developed by University of Oxford. Based on the new proposal, the goal was 1,600 participants in the trials in over 20 cities spread across India.
The Serum had an agreement with Swedish-British drug maker AstraZeneca to produce around a billion doses for low- and middle-income countries by early 2021.
