Scientists released error-free genomes of 25 animals with another 70,000 coming up
On Apr. 28, 2021, Rockefeller University researchers announced the launch the Vertebrate Genomes Project, an ambitious initiative launched to generate high-quality reference genomes for every extant vertebrate species. Their flagship study was published in Nature, where they presented their methods and principles for sequencing and assembling high-quality reference genome.
