Nobel Prize in Physics awarded to AT&T Bell Lab scientists for discovery of the transistor effect
In 1956, the Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to John Bardeen, William Shockley and Walter Brattain at AT&T Bell Laboratories for their discovery of the transistor effect.
