On Dec. 20, 2018, the Karmanos Cancer Institute and Wayne State University were awarded the prestigious LAPS Grant (Lead Academic Participating Sites), which is a national recognition for cancer research leadership.

A National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center since 1978, Karmanos has consistently met and exceeded clinical trial enrollment accruals to advance science and help make new cancer therapies available to more cancer patients.
