Johns Hopkins engineering professor Dr Lauren Gardner created the COVID dashboard used around the world to track the novel coronavirus outbreak
On Jan. 22, 2020, Johns Hopkins engineering professor Dr. Lauren Gardner created the COVID dashboard used around the world to track the novel coronavirus outbreak.
Dr. Gardner led a research team that found that residents in all 25 of the U.S. counties hardest hit by COVID-19 began to limit their public movements before states implemented stay-at-home orders. The decline in the number of daily trips people made, as tracked by mobile phone data, helped slow the spread of the virus. The results were published in The Lancet Infectious Disease journal.
