On Jan. 4, 2021, Moderna announced that Israel’s Ministry of Health (MOH) had given authorization to import the COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna in Israel. The MOH secured 6 million doses of the COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna.

Israel was the third country for which Moderna had received authorization for its COVID-19 vaccine, following the United States on December 18, 2020 and Canada on December 23, 2020. Additional authorizations were  under review in the European Union, Singapore, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

The decision from the MOH was based on a rolling submission of data and was based on the totality of scientific evidence shared by the Company, including a data analysis from the pivotal Phase 3 clinical study announced on November 30.
