On Jun. 14, 2023, GOOD Meat, the cultivated meat division of food technology company Eat Just, Inc., announced that it had received approval from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for its first poultry product, cultivated chicken, to enter interstate commerce.

This landmark clearance means the firmﾒs chicken, which is made directly from animal cells, can be sold to American consumers. The U.S. is just the second country in the world to approve cultivated meat sales with Singapore being the first with approval in 2020.
