Georgy Karpechenko crossed radishes and cabbages, creating fertile offspring between plants in different genera
In 1928, Dr. Georgy Karpechenko at the botanical institute at Detskoje Selo, in Russia crossed radishes and cabbages, creating fertile offspring between plants in different genera.
Karpechenko worked at the The Institute of Plant Industry in Moscow. He was arrested by the NKVD under the false grounds, sentenced to death and executed in 1941.
