Georgia’s Comprehensive Cancer Registry was established
On Jan. 1, 1995, Georgia’s Comprehensive Cancer Registry was established. The Registry became gold certified in 2002 following the criteria of the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries and the National Program of Cancer Registries of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
This information furthers our understanding of cancer and is used to develop strategies and policies for prevention, intervention, control, and treatment.
