Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center was founded
In 2000, Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, was founded when the Georgetown University Medical Center authorized the establishment of a cancer center named in honor of Vincent T. Lombardi.
Lombardi was former coach of the Green Bay Packers and the Washington Redskins, who was treated for cancer at Georgetown University Hospital.
