In 1927, future President of the U.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt organized the Georgia Warm Springs Foundation for polio sufferers.
The Foundation was a comprehensive rehabilitation center dedicated to service, technological advancement, program diversity, research opportunities, continuing education and future development on behalf of persons with disabilities. Roosevelt Warm Springs remains a national treasure and Georgia ‘point-of-pride.’
