First case of SARS-CoV-2 in mink confirmed in Oregon
On Nov. 27, 2020, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that it had confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 in mink at one Oregon farm. The farm is also reporting cases of COVID-19 in staff.
To date, the virus was detected in mink in seven countries, including the Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, Sweden, Spain, and in the U.S. in Utah, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Other species of animals within the U.S. had also tested positive for SARS-CoV-2.
