Emil Mallinckrodt aquired land for first factory
In 1840, Emil Mallinckrodt acquired a land in the Bremen area of St. Louis, which became the site of the first Mallinckrodt factory. The company rapidly became a leading chemical supplier offering employee healthcare benefits in 1883, and the company established an office in New York 1884. In 1924, Mallinckrodt purified and provided all of the uranium oxide used by the Manhattan Project.
Today. Mallinckrodt is a global business, headquartered in the United Kingdom, that develops, manufactures, markets and distributes specialty pharmaceutical products and therapies, as well as nuclear imaging products.
