Elsie Taber became the first female full-time professor at MCSC’s School of Medicine
In 1948, Elsie Taber joined the faculty of the Anatomy Department of the Medical College of South Carolina. She advanced to the rank of full professor in 1965, becoming the first woman to achieve that rank in the College of Medicine.
