D. Weinman and A.H Chandler suggested Toxoplasma gondii transmission via consumption of undercooked meat
In 1954, D. Weinman and A.H Chandler suggested T. gondii transmission via consumption of undercooked meat. in 1956, Weinman and Chandler suggested that T. gondii could spread via a meat-to-man route and Kylie Jacobs et al. demonstrated the presence of infectious T. gondii cysts in the diaphragms of sheep and swine.
In a 1963 review, Jacobs stated that the oral route, i.e., eating raw or undercooked meat containing T. gondii cysts, did indeed explain the incidence of toxoplasmosis in some populations and also explained how carnivorous animals become infected.
