On Apr. 25, 1991, Congress heard testimony on the National Cancer Act to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Act. Dr. Samuel A. Broder, National Cancer Institute director, thanked Congress for its “consistent vision, leadership, and commitment to the goal of alleviating the death and suffering caused by cancer in this country.”
