Cleveland Health Commissioner announced the city had about 500 influenza cases
By Oct. 7, 1918, Cleveland Health Commissioner Rockwood announced the city had about 500 influenza cases. This led city officials to follow Rockwood’s advice to try and prevent the spread of disease.
To help control the spread of influenza in the city and throughout the greater Cleveland area, the advisory board met with officials from nearby communities.
