CDC stopped recommending adamantanes during 2005 season after high levels of influenza A (H3N2) virus resistance
On Jan. 17, 2006, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that it had stopped recommending adamantanes during the 2005-2006 season after high levels of influenza A viruse resistance.
In the U.S., resistance level increased from 1.9% during the 2003-2004 season to 11% in the 2004-2005 season.
