On Sept. 17, 2021, Zoo Atlanta reported that of the 20 gorillas at the Zoo, 18 showed clinical signs consistent with SARS-CoV-2 infection and nine received positive results. For the most part, the clinical signs were mild to moderate, and at only two gorillas remained symptomatic.
