A federal judge announced prison sentences for inventor and distributor of Zerret Applicator

On May 22, 1950, a federal judge announces prison sentences for William Ferguson, the inventor and Mary Stanakis distributor of the “Zerret Applicator.” In May 1950, Ferguson and Stanakis were convicted. Ferguson was sentenced to two years in jail, Stanakis to one year. Most of the devices were destroyed, with a couple being retained for museum display and for starring in PSAs.
