A fourth case of HPAI confirmed in Deschutes County, Oregon expanding quarantine

On Jul. 21, 2022, the Oregon Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of Agricultureメs Animal Plant Health Inspection Service confirmed the stateメs ninth detection of highly pathogenic avian influenza in a non-commercial flock in Deschutes County.

The flock of approximately 40 birds, was a mix of chickens and ducks. Like the previous three Deschutes County cases, this farm sold eggs and was classified as poultry by federal definitions and required another expansion of the quarantine zone.
