On Aug. 19, 2020, Johnson & Johnson announced an agreement to acquire Momenta Pharmaceuticals, a company that discovers and develops novel therapies for immune-mediated diseases, in an all cash transaction for approximately $6.5 billion.

Momenta was founded in 2001 with its headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
