On Jul. 7, 2020, Oxfordﾒs Leverhulme Centre for Demographic Science reported that cloth face coverings, even homemade masks made with the correct material, are effective in reducing the spread of COVID-19 – for the wearer and those around them. The study was published jointly by the British Academy and the Royal Society as part of Royal Societyﾒs SET-C (Science in Emergencies Tasking ﾖ COVID-19) group.
