New images of novel Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 made available

On Feb. 26, 2020, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases’ Rocky Mountain Laboratories (NIAID-RML) announced it had produced images of the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2, previously known as 2019-nCoV), the causative pathogen of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), on its scanning and transmission electron microscopes.

SARS-CoV-2 causes COVID-19 disease, which had grown to be a global public health emergency since cases were first detected in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.
