The National Institutes of Health awarded $28.3 million to Jackson Laboratory for Knockout Mouse Production and Phenotyping Project

On Aug. 4, 2016, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) awarded a total of $28.3 million to The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) over five years to fund phase 2 of the Knockout Mouse Production and Phenotyping Project (KOMP2).

JAX and two other NIH funded centers are part of a worldwide effort, the International Mouse Phenotyping Consortium (IMPC), to genetically and systematically determine the function of every mammalian gene, one gene at a time.
