Genome of 8,500-year-old North American skeleton, known as Kennewick Man, was sequenced
On Jun. 18, 2015, Nature announced that the genome sequencing by scientists at the University of Copenhagen of a 8,500-year-old North American skeleton, known as Kennewick Man, revealed that he is closely related to Native American tribes. Two teenagers discovered the bones in Jul. 1996 near the shores of the Columbia River, near Kennewick, Washington.
