On Jul. 23, 2013, Matrical Bioscience announced it has had been acquired by Chelmsford, Massachusetts-based Brooks Automation for $10 million.

Matrical, a privately held company, was established in 2001. Originally from California and Pennsylvania, Matrical relocated to Spokane in 2002. Matrical provided biological sample preparation, management and storage solutions to customers in agbio, biotech, life science tools and pharmaceutical markets.
