On Aug. 6, 2011, the United States Breastfeeding Committee (USBC) officially declared that August is National Breastfeeding Month. The USBC, formed in 1998, is a coalition of more than 40 organizations that support its mission to improve the Nationﾒs health by working collaboratively to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding.
