Robert C. Byrd Biotechnology Science Center opened

In 2006, Robert C. Byrd Biotechnology Science Center officially opened. The center was constructed with a grant of more than $35 million from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the $40 million, 200,000 square foot Center was built along Third Avenue across from the Science Building.
The Science Center brought together faculty, staff and students from both the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and the College of Science.
