Washington University – St Louis researchers developed a blood test to detect a thyroid cancer gene mutation
In 1994, researcher Helen Donis-Keller and colleagues at Washington University – St. Louis announced they had for the first time developed genetic screening tests that detect a rare, lethal form of thyroid cancer in the preclinical state, permitting early treatment in children predisposed to the disease.
