Mammography Quality Standards Act required all mammography facilities in the US to be accredited and federally certified
On Oct. 7, 1992, the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) was enacted. The MQSA required national, uniform quality standards for mammography facilities* and was intended to ensure that all women have access to safe and effective mammography services for early detection of breast cancer.
