Dotter Interventional Institute was established at OHSU to honor the pioneer of interventional radiology
In 1990, the Dotter Interventional Institute was established at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) as a multidisciplinary clinical, research, and educational division of OHSU. The Institute was named to honor Dr. John Dotter, a pioneer of interventional radiology.
On January 16, 1964, Dotter initiated a paradigm shift in medicine when he performed the first percutaneous angioplasty.
