The Comprehensive Minority Biomedical Program was established
In 1984, The Comprehensive Minority Biomedical Program, DEA, was established to widen the focus of the minority effort along lines of the programmatic thrusts of the institute, thereby giving it trans-National Cancer Institute responsibilities.
Today, the Center for Cancer Health Equity (CCHE) strives to achieve health equity by working towards eliminating health disparities, advancing inclusive research across basic, clinical, translational, and population-based studies, promoting a diverse workforce, and enhancing community engagement.
