The Gershenson Radiation Oncology Center opened
In 1980, the $2 million Gershenson Radiation Oncology Center (GROC) opened as a partnership between Wayne State University’s School of Medicine and Harper University Hospital.
The GROC consists of approximately 49,500 square feet and is located on the main campus of the Detroit Medical Center in mid-town Detroit. Patient treatment techniques include: 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy, Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy, Tomotherapy, Gamma Knife Radiosurgery, High Dose Rate Brachytherapy, and Prostate Seed Implant.
